Iowa Barn Tour

Who knew there was such a thing as a barn tour. There is a Barn Foundation that helps people preserve their old barns. People come from all over to see what we can see in just a days car ride. The tour is a weekend long event and the folks that own the barns usually come out and tell you all about their barns. If you get a chance you should definitely go! Here is the link to the foundations website:http://iowabarnfoundation.org/events.htm. A friend asked me if I wanted to go and take some photos of barns that are on the tour. Of course! So here are some barn pictures:

There were several "Little Red doors" here are some of the best ones:

Of course we stopped along the way to take some random pictures:
This barn was not actually on the tour but I loved the rolling hills.

We stumbled across an old blacksmith shop and the man that owned it came out and gave us the history and let us inside to take pictures and it wasn't even on the tour. The people in Iowa are the best!

I had to take this picture for our son.....

On our way home on the second day we saw asters and golden rod (who can tell these from ragweed? Not me!)

That's all for today. Thanks for viewing now get out and enjoy this beautiful day!
